Learn the basics of acrylic painting as we compose and finish a few acrylic paintings. Sketch on a canvas and they follow the play of light on your work. Small class size. Class is June 28-July 1st. Afternoons only.
Come explore the incredible rainforests of the Amazon. Create artwork inspired by brilliantly-colored toucans, plants and breathtaking rainforest inhabitants. Suitable for students 5-12, but some exceptions can be made for 4 year olds. Learn to draw all the different characters and environments of the Rainforest and the Amazon basin. This class has a strong environmental component to it. June 7-10th.
This is a little more advanced class where we work with students 8 and above. Prepare your palette, grab your paintbrush and travel through the Renaissance, 19th century Paris and modern art of today. Styles include cubism, surrealism, impressionism and pop art as they create with drawings and acrylic painting. Monday-Thursday 1-4p $150.00 August 9-12
Big Cats hear me roar! Learn to draw all your favorite wild cats from Lions, Tigers, Panthers, Ocelots, and Bobcats. Lessons in pastel application, watercolors, pen and ink, markers and pencil will be taught. For students 5-12. July 12-15
Wallace and Grommit here we come! Claymation is stop-film photography, clay manipulation, set design, script development and working together as a team to develop your own movie! This is a busy class that let\'s students learn the steps involved with Claymation and how stop-film animation is created. A special offering from Monart. Students receive their own CD of their movie at the end of class. Enrollment limited to 8 students - 8 and older only. Class June 21-24 or July 26-29

Bird eating spiders, Nile Crocodiles, Komodo Dragons, Grizzly Bears, Killer Whales and Great White Sharks are some of the things we will be learning about. Ahoy Matie..Calling all pirates to come learn about some of the fascinating real pirates from the 1780s. Make your own treasure map, learn about the different oceans in the world and what makes a sound pirate ship. Some mermaids and sea monsters may also appear on the horizon. June 28-July 1
3 day workshop on the correct usage of graphite. How to shade and do texture with pencil. For the older student who can not stop sketching in pencil. Encouragement for a beginning portfolio illustrator. Learn how to draw on the computer with a digital drawing tablet and how this can help you with composition. Some charcoal rendering as well. July 6-8th
Special class for younger campers. Learn all about the care of cats, dogs, turtles, guinea pigs, rabbits, snakes and fish. Sculpt your favorite pet. Some littlest pet shop characters will also be drawn. This class only meetings in the mornings. Geared for students 4-10. July 26-29
Calling all fans of Pokemon and Super Heroes. This 4-day camp will cover drawing many of the popular Pokemon characters and favorite Super Heroes. Spiderman, Iron Man, Underdog, Superman and Ang from "The Last AirBender" will come to life on the pages as we learn about these interesting characters and focus on the details that make these heroes special. This class will meet 9a-12p Monday-Thursday, August 2nd-5th. Class is limited to 8. $150.00. All supplies included. Ages 5-12.
